Lip Synch
All Plasma and LCD screens exhibit a delay between picture displayed and the sound
from the speakers. This is called lip synch, as the lips move out of time with the voice.
The difficulty of producing a picture with these technologies produce a time gap between
picture and sound that is hard to minimize. Using separate sound via a stereo system with
good placement of the speakers can help. Most plasmas and LCDs have sound out (monitor or AV out)
sockets to connect to your stereo.
Noises from Plasmas
Plasma panels draw allot of power, typically
between 300 to 600watts of power.
This large power usage is dissipated in heat
and they can get very hot front and back.
Heat changes on metal objects
can emit noises as metal contracts and expands.
These noises can be reduced
by good ventilation around the panel.
Transport
Always remove CDs from stereos, CD players or DVD players before transporting them
